Happy Thanksgiving And Editors Note

A very Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. I wish all of God's Blessings upon all of you.

I give Thanks this year for Family, for Friends, for my Brothers in Arms, and for all of you. Your words of encouragement and well wishes have gotten me through many dark and tough hours. More than you know...but read on and you will see....

I must apologize. I have been very quiet of late. Part of that was the journey home, and the preparation for a new assignment and position. Part of that was a lot of soul searching about the blog....

You see, I was not sure where I wanted to take this. When I started this, it was as I was going to school and preparing for my third deployment. I had ample time and things to talk about. As the deployment began it became apparent that it would be much more difficult to walk that line between talking about what was happening and operational security. For the past two weeks I have seriously comtemplated shutting down the blog due to those same security concerns.

Tonight, I made a simple Happy Thanksgiving Day Message on Twitter and Facebook. Within 10 minutes I can not even begin to count the responses. I apologize....I forgot for a time why I was doing this, and why it was so important. That will not happen again!

A Major's Perspective will be back after the Thanksgiving Holiday. I'm still not totally sure what everything will look like, and what changes I will make, but it will be continuing! I'm excited about the new year, new assignment, new deployment, and about all of you....my friends!

Veteran's Day 2010

Veteran's Day symbolizes the rememberance of all Veterans who have served our country. It was originally called Armistice Day, and than changed to Veteran's Day. It was initiated by President Woodrow Wilson as Armistice Day to remember the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month when the Armistice was signed at the end of World War One.

This Veteran's Day take a second and say thank you to our Veterans and their Families. So many have given so much so that all of us can live in freedom. Also -- say thank you to all of our wonderful Troop supporters like Soldier's Angels. We would not be where we are today without all of their help and assistance!
