As many of you have noticed, the posting has declined exponentially. Theres a couple reasons for it. The main one is that I am struggling with what subjects I can appropriately offer opinions. I won't go into details, but I've started many a blog entry lately and than realized there was no way I could publish it.

I have been struggling with how to proceed, and have been trying to decide which direction to take. Instead of making a decision quickly though, Ill be taking some time off, and figuring out how I wish to go forward.

I hope all of you are doing well, and I hope you aren't that disappointed.

Hope to be talking, discussing, and discoursing with all of you again soon.

Treason is treason.....and while a military court will determine what and how he is to be punished....calling someone who stole secret documents and sent them to wikileaks is treason. It is no different from active espionage or betraying your fellow Soldiers face to face. Things That Really Irritate Me

Yesterday was the 7th of December. "A day that will live in Infamy." A day that summoned a Nation to War and led to the Greatest Generation throwing back tyrany across the world. A Generation that sacrificed so much for all of us.

Today was the day John Lennon was shot. OK...got it. Personally not my kind of music...I'm more your Hard Rock, Heavy Metal type of guy, but I can respect his abilities.

I was shocked at how little coverage there was of Pearl Harbor and how much there was for a musician. What the heck is wrong with this picture?

I know I am preaching to the choir....but I am just disgusted with the MSM on this one.

A very Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. I wish all of God's Blessings upon all of you.

I give Thanks this year for Family, for Friends, for my Brothers in Arms, and for all of you. Your words of encouragement and well wishes have gotten me through many dark and tough hours. More than you know...but read on and you will see....

I must apologize. I have been very quiet of late. Part of that was the journey home, and the preparation for a new assignment and position. Part of that was a lot of soul searching about the blog....

You see, I was not sure where I wanted to take this. When I started this, it was as I was going to school and preparing for my third deployment. I had ample time and things to talk about. As the deployment began it became apparent that it would be much more difficult to walk that line between talking about what was happening and operational security. For the past two weeks I have seriously comtemplated shutting down the blog due to those same security concerns.

Tonight, I made a simple Happy Thanksgiving Day Message on Twitter and Facebook. Within 10 minutes I can not even begin to count the responses. I apologize....I forgot for a time why I was doing this, and why it was so important. That will not happen again!

A Major's Perspective will be back after the Thanksgiving Holiday. I'm still not totally sure what everything will look like, and what changes I will make, but it will be continuing! I'm excited about the new year, new assignment, new deployment, and about all of you....my friends!

Veteran's Day symbolizes the rememberance of all Veterans who have served our country. It was originally called Armistice Day, and than changed to Veteran's Day. It was initiated by President Woodrow Wilson as Armistice Day to remember the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month when the Armistice was signed at the end of World War One.

This Veteran's Day take a second and say thank you to our Veterans and their Families. So many have given so much so that all of us can live in freedom. Election Day here in Afghanistan. My hat is truly off to the Afghan People. Today, after years of fighting a brutal group of rapists, thugs, and criminals -- otherwise known as the taliban; the Afghan People once again have shown they are taking their Country back and not living in fear of these criminals. It's funny ....in the United States on Election Day, people hem and haw over whether they want to stand in line to vote. Here, these brave men and women stand in line knowing how important casting their vote really is.

Note: I really enjoy this book everytime I read it. I find something new about it that I didn't know or realize the first time. Highly recommend reading it for some deep thinking moments.
